   1. They are both ways to get information from one source to another.
   2. They were able to expand the telegraph globally, as well as the internet.
   3. The telegraph was used for social networking, instant messaging, and stock exchange, among other things which were similar to the internet today.

different to the internet
   1. There were many types of telegraphs as they developed throughout time including ones such as Elderton, Gauss-Weber, Morse and others. There, however, is only one kind of internet, the web.
   2. You can get on wireless internet, from anywhere with a wi-fi access, but couldnt do that with the telegraph.
   3. Anyone can access basically anything from anywhere now, where as the telegraph was limited in access and distance.

*When researching the telegraph i noticed that it was the first time Morse code was used, which i found very interesting. Samuel Morse wrote codes on a strip of paper, in attempts to better the electric telegraph. Those written codes became known today as Morse code.
